  1. U.S. citizens sponsoring children under the age of 21.

A U.S. citizen can sponsor a child under the age of 21 who is unmarried (also known as a child of a U.S. citizen or child of US citizen). Where U.S. citizens sponsor young children are not limited by the number of annual visas, it means that the visa of the petition is effective immediately without waiting. The total time to complete the application is about 1 year.

It’s important to know that when sponsoring a child under the age of 21, the age of 21 is counted on the day of application, which means that if a U.S. citizen sponsors a child at the time he or she is 20 years and 11 months and 29 days old, he or she is still counted as a child even though he or she is over 21 when the date of the interview is over.

Financial sponsorship for persons under the age of 18.

A special priority for U.S. citizens sponsoring a child under the age of 21 is that if the child is under 18, you do not need to make a financial sponsorship document, do not need to pay tax papers as well as proof of income because after the child comes to the US can apply for naturalization according to the parents.

  1. U.S. citizens sponsoring children over the age of 21 who are single.

A U.S. citizen can sponsor a single child over the age of 21, which is listed as an F1 priority. This category will be limited annually to the number of applications that can pass through the U.S. because of the number of U.S. immigration laws. Therefore, the waiting time for this application will be determined by the annual visa bulletin schedule. Currently, the waiting period of this application is about 7 years, this number will be changed monthly depending on the visa schedule announced to NVC.

  1. U.S. citizens sponsor married children.

A U.S. citizen can sponsor a child over the age of 21 who is married, which is listed as an F3 priority. The limit of this F3 priority category is 23,400 visas per year and will be controlled by the visa bulletin schedule. Currently the waiting period for F3 is about 12 years, this number will be changed monthly depending on the visa schedule announced to NVC.
