Truong Law Firm is looking for an AI Engineering Intern to join our team in developing an AI-powered platform that supports U.S. immigration case processing.

This is an opportunity to work directly on a practical technology project involving AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), OCR, document processing, and workflow automation.

What will you work on?

We are developing an AI-powered platform to support U.S. immigration case processing, initially focusing on CR1 spousal immigration cases and Form I-130.

You will take primary responsibility for assigned technical modules, including:

• Client Intake & Secure Upload: Build client intake workflows and secure document upload functionality.
• AI Document Processing: Apply OCR and LLM technologies to extract structured information from passports, birth certificates, marriage certificates, USCIS notices, and other relevant documents.
• Vietnamese–English Translation: Develop a Vietnamese–English and English–Vietnamese document translation pipeline with quality control.
• Form Automation: Automate data entry into Form I-130 and DS-260, generating draft PDFs for attorney review.
• Case Package Automation: Support case package assembly, document organization, and exhibit numbering.
• AI Chatbot: Build a chatbot to handle basic client questions, with a human handoff mechanism when necessary.

Important scope distinction: AI will support structured and repetitive tasks. Relationship evidence evaluation and Affidavit drafting remain the responsibility of Case Managers and attorneys.

Who should apply?

We are looking for candidates who have more than theoretical knowledge of AI. You should have the technical foundation and practical experience to turn ideas into working software.

Requirements:

• Third-year students, final-year students, or recent graduates in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related fields.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs, such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or open-source models.
• Practical experience with at least one of the following: OCR / Document AI, Prompt Engineering, RAG, or FastAPI.
• Ability to read technical documentation in English and communicate in both Vietnamese and English.
• Willingness to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Preference will be given to students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT – Bach Khoa).

What do we expect from you?

This is not an internship designed primarily for observation or learning AI programming from scratch.

You will take primary responsibility for assigned technical modules within the project. We therefore expect you to:

• Have a solid technical foundation and be ready to contribute from the beginning.
• Take initiative in researching solutions and solving technical problems.
• Work independently and manage your assigned tasks and deadlines.
• Use technical documentation and AI development tools effectively.
• Take ownership of your work and the results you deliver.

Important timeline requirement: The project’s core deliverables must be completed within 3 months. This is a mandatory requirement of the internship.

Internship details

• Position: AI Engineering Intern – Immigration Platform Project
• Location: On-site at Truong Law Firm’s Saigon Office, VFC Building, 29 Ton Duc Thang Street, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
• Duration: 3 months, 5 days per week.
• Monthly stipend: VND 6,000,000 – 8,000,000.
• Project supervision: Under the supervision of U.S. attorneys.
• Confidentiality: Selected candidates must sign an NDA.
